WEEK ONEEE AND WEEK TWOOOOO!!!!! (reflection…..)

My first day of biochemistry (BIOL 1362)….. I was ah bit taken back with the amount of people it had doing the course…the classrooms were literally filled to capacity and half of which were repeaters. This frightened me ah little and made me think, “wow this course must be really hard to pass!!!!” But all in all No one said it’s going to be easy but with hard work, perseverance, and ah little faith in yourself and in the man above anything is possible!!!! 🙂 After J.M (the lecturer) gave us an insight to the course outline and what he expects of us, made everything ah bit better. He was straight forward and reassured us that in order to pass the course we must work hard n study everyday…..as with all the other courses I am doing. I like how he introduced the course and all the topics and tings that we have to do throughout the semester…most of the other courses I am doing jus dived into the work which I didn’t like! :/ I am looking forward to what biochem has to offer and hope that everything works out in my favor!! 🙂

The first topic done in BIOL 1362 (biochemistry 1) was on the celllll and its components………… this was an interesting topic as J.M made it seem easy to grasp!!! I now have a better understanding of the topic because we did it in great detail. I also love how he puts up videos of his lectures on YouTube for us to view…I appreciate this because in my opinion it is weyyy easier to learn rather than reading from some boring slides!!! x(

INTRODUCTION

Hello biochem world! My name is Mellaceia Guelmo and I am a citizen of the beautiful twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago. I am 21 years of age and I am currently pursuing a double major in Biology and Chemistry in the University of The West Indies, Trinidad. I am not much of a reader although my degrees demand it! >.< I am however, willing to do anything it takes to not just pass my courses but to excel to the maximum of my ability and part of that means creating this blog! One of my Biology courses is Biochemistry (BIOL 1362) which is the subject my blog will be based upon. Some of the things I enjoy doing whenever I’m not swamped with work is spending quality time with my friends and family. My hobbies include singing although some might say I’m not very good at it lol and playing football…yess I play sports even thought I am a girl! 🙂 well I tink that is enough about me for the while….i hope that this blog will be able to help you as well as myself in biochemistry. Hope you enjoy and please feel free to leave comments and ask questions on what you think about the topics I will be posting about soon. Have a safe weekend and until next time! byeeee 🙂
